COVID-19 Important Notice

Urgent – Important Information For Patients about COVID-19

From Thursday 19th March, Mile End Road Surgery will be CLOSED until further notice, with the clinicians and staff re-deployed to our other two sites. This is because of depleted clinical and administration staff numbers. All patients registered at Mile End Road will continue to receive all aspects of care. However, if face-to-face consultations or other routine care such as vaccinations are required this will need to take place at either Tuckswood Surgery or Gurney Surgery. Patients with pre-booked appointments at Mile End Road will be contacted by a member of staff.

Please do not attend the surgery if you have a new continuous cough or a fever, or if you have been advised to self-isolate because of a household contact with symptoms. If you need to attend the surgery, but are a member of a high-risk group please tell the patient service coordinator. All requests for medical advice are being triaged by a senior clinician with a phone call. Requests for telephone consultations can be made by ringing the surgery, however from Tuesday 24th March we will be encouraging you if at all possible, to contact us via our website using the Consulting Room button on the home page. Within Consulting Room then click on “Get help from the practice” and then fill in the form that is displayed.

The new website messaging system and concentrating our resource on two sites, will better enable us to make the best use of our available staff and continue to endeavour to provide our patients with the best clinical care that we can in the current exceptional circumstances. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
